This Institute was established on March 2, 1993 by the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Taiwan Printing Industry Association. The supervisory division was established in September, 1992.

The printed material printability testing database, ink-testing statistics database, and the first integrated software for color management were built up and produced.
4. With the help of GCC, Tah Kong Chemical Industrial Corp., and International United Technology Co., Ltd. organized the "R&D League" to promote the color quality control technology.5. Revised the edition of "Printing Plants Technology Supporting & Personnel Training Program" 2000 ISO 9000 Quality Identification was qualified.
6. The Chongqing Printing Technology Association and Peijing Technology Development & Application Association Delegations visited PTRI, and held a "Printing Technology Development & Two-land Printing Economics & Trading Seminar".

9. Organized a delegation to visit Tokyo IGAS 2003. As well as visiting companies in Japan such as: Toppan Printing Co., Epson Corporate, and Toyo Shigyo Printing Co., Ltd., etc.
10. Held the "Printing Industry Development Strategy Forum" more than 40 specialists from industrial, governmental, and academic circles participated in this meeting to discuss and revised the development strategy and measures of the printing industry.
11. Chairman Chin-fa Lu and Managing Director Charles C.Y. Chang were invited to participate in "2003 All In Pack Exhibition and Two-side Four-land Communicating Party" in Shanghai.
12. A patent of "Monitors Color Gamut Generation Method Suitable for Different Operation Systems" was granted by Intellectual Property Office, Ministry of Economic Affairs. The first inventor's patent since PTRI founded.
13. Application an United States' patent of "Digital Color Converting Profile Application Technology". The first inventor's patent from a foreign country.

1. Moved to the new office building (11F-3, No. 27, Lane 61, Sec. 1, Guang-Fu Rd. San-Chong City, Taipei County, Taiwan), and held a celebration tea party.

Developed and set up 400 lines/inch six color lithographic printing process control and metamerism color matching technology, and finished the spectrum color screen and estimating software; Hybrid integrated screen printing; Metal color printing application technology, and set up 70 prescriptions for metal color.
3. Obtained the "International Proofing (Printing) Color Certificate" from Germany FOGRA. The first organization accepted such certification among Asia countries.
4. Obtained the patent of invention of "The Prediction Method of Using Color Description File to Simulate Special Color".
5. Accomplished the "Development and Promotion of Soy Ink to Use in Sheetfed Press in Taiwan", an international marketing cooperation project cooperated with American Soybean Association.
6. Guided with technology lectures to the persons from organizations such as the National Palace Museum, National History Museum, Academia Sinica, etc. concerning digital collections of digital color image corrections, standardization for digital proofing, and color authentications, etc.

Formulated the international color standard common used for print industry, set up CNS 15025 standard of "Printing Technology--Process Procedure Control for Halftone Color Separation, Proofing and Prints". This standard was announced by Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection, M.O.E.A., and had already promulgated in July of 2006.
21. Held the "High Value Print Technology Development Seminar and 2006 Achievement Announcement" in the south and midle area of Taiwan.
22. Held the "Color Control for High-Quality Prints Seminar & Demonstration Lectures".
